AmeriCorps VISTA - Summer
Associates Needed
In response to the recent tornadoes and flooding in the
Midwest, particularly the devastating storms in Iowa,
AmeriCorps VISTA is recruiting 200 Summer Associates and 30
full-year VISTAs to assist in disaster relief in Eastern
Iowa. VISTAs will recruit and manage volunteers and provide
coordination and leadership to assist low-income individuals
and communities in recovering from the severe flooding that
struck Linn and Johnson Counties. >

What is this AmeriCorps? Why is my friend so proud of finishing a year in it? Is it something I might want to do, too? I had many questions running through my mind when a couple of people I know began talking about their year in AmeriCorps. So I began to ask questions.
