AmeriCorps VISTA - Summer
Associates Needed
In response to the recent tornadoes and flooding in the
Midwest, particularly the devastating storms in Iowa,
AmeriCorps VISTA is recruiting 200 Summer Associates and 30
full-year VISTAs to assist in disaster relief in Eastern
Iowa. VISTAs will recruit and manage volunteers and provide
coordination and leadership to assist low-income individuals
and communities in recovering from the severe flooding that
struck Linn and Johnson Counties. >

Michele Kehl's assignment as an AmeriCorps*VISTA in the low-income Bowley's Quarters community in Baltimore County, Maryland, coincided with the arrival of Hurricane Isabel in September 2003.
