Medical or dental assistants and/or community health workers provide vital interpersonal connections with patients by speaking to them in their native language, hearing their initial concerns, or helping them communicate with the doctor. Professional Corps members through Community HealthCorps will assist the medically underserved overcome barriers to accessing and appropriately using health care, add value and consistency to patient care, and assist with the recruitment of essential staff.
