Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis

The Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis designates a $2,000 total match of the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award for one AmeriCorps graduate enrolled in the MA in Social Justice and Human Rights program each year. This match is distributed in semester increments; $1,000 in the first semester and $1,000 in the second semester.

The MA in Social Justice and Human Rights program teaches fundamental principles of social justice and human rights along with a focus on change strategies through small interdisciplinary seminars, an experiential internship experience, and final master’s capstone project. Students completing this program are prepared to be effective change agents in social justice or human rights organizations, including the nonprofit, government, and policy realms as well as in grass-roots organizations and movements. By supplementing traditional social change efforts with psychodynamic learning, this program helps practitioners translate these values into change efforts, and develop needed tools to address obstacles to successful advocacy and activism. The program is specifically designed for individuals seeking jobs furthering social change, or for those who are already working in social change who seek further education.
