AmeriCorps NCCC Sponsor Survey

The five AmeriCorps NCCC regions – Atlantic, North Central, Pacific, Southern, and Southwest – routinely collect feedback from their regional sponsors to learn about their perspectives and experiences with the NCCC program and teams working at sponsor organizations’ service projects. These findings are used to make evidence-informed program improvements.

Profile of AmeriCorps NCCC Members at the Start of Service

This report describes initial findings from a national evaluation of how AmeriCorps’ National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) seeks to promote leadership skills and qualities among members. With data from a baseline survey administered between January 2020 and April 2021, this report details characteristics of a sample of NCCC members at the time they began their service. Data were also collected from a matched comparison group of candidates who applied and were later invited to serve with NCCC, but who did not accept.

Scaling the Reading Corps Intervention: Insights from the Experiences of the United Way of Iowa

This case study describes the scaling of Reading Corps, a literacy intervention designed to improve reading proficiency, by United Ways of Iowa (UWI) and its partners. When scaling Reading Corps, the focus is not only on implementing an intervention, but also on reproducing the same effects for a larger or different population.

This case study provides insights about how UWI and its partners are scaling Reading Corps, as well as the factors that appear to facilitate and hinder scaling.

Last year more than 6,700 Americans of all ages and backgrounds united to meet local needs, strengthen communities, and expand opportunity through national service in Iowa. AmeriCorps invested more than $24.4 million in federal funding to support cost-effective community solutions, working hand in hand with local partners to empower individuals to help communities tackle their toughest challenges.
