In memory of the September 11 attacks, AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP of Central Arkansas and Future Builders Inc. honored 174 volunteer firefighters at eight locations in the four counties we service in Arkansas.

"We brought goodies and sat with the officers to discuss and talk about that unforgettable day. Some volunteers were too young to remember, so we shared our stories and how they impacted the world. It was such a successful day for us."

Henrietta Gaines

AmeriCorps Seniors volunteer

"Experience gained throughout the service is one of a kind. I immersed myself in a diverse environment where I learned a lot about different nations and their cultures."

Mira Bakhtiyarova

AmeriCorps member

"I connected with students facing challenges similar to those my peers and I grew up with in Inglewood, Calif. Through service, I wanted to help them realize their potential."

Daniel Subdiaz

AmeriCorps member

"I can't believe how fast my service went by. I've enjoyed every moment and am so grateful for this opportunity."

Starr Shoemaker
