She is a social worker who has been working in federal homelessness programs for the past several years at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and at the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration, part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Jennifer Swinehart is the director of facilities and support services at AmeriCorps. She brings more than 22 years of government and nonprofit experience to her position. Swinehart manages a staff of five in providing consistent, effective, efficient, and customer-focused facilities and support services. The Office of Facilities and Support Services is responsible for facilities management (at headquarters and regional offices), continuity of operations, records, safety, security, supplies and a host of other tasks in support of the agency mission.
