The College Possible program supports college admission and success for low-income students through an intensive curriculum of coaching and support by near-peer coaches. The program also supports students to find and enroll in their best-fit college to increase their chances of persisting and graduating college.

Study Goals:
The goal of the study was to assess the impacts of College Possible’s College-Fit program on students' academic outcomes and understanding of personal fit of post-secondary institutions during two academic years (2018-2019 and 2019-2020).

Research Questions:
The research questions were:

  • What are the impacts on school attendance for students supported by College Possible?
  • What are the impacts on high school Grade Point Average (GPA) for students supported by College Possible?
  • What are the impacts to On-track to On-time graduation rates (OTI) for students supported by College Possible?
  • What change is observed in a measure of college-fit closely aligned to program supports?

Findings:
The evaluation found the following:

  • In year 1, students who participated in College Possible had statistically significant and positive increases in attendance and On-Track to On-Time graduation (OTI).
  • In year 2, students experienced positive impacts for OTI and growth in college-going knowledge.
