If you are an employee of a federal agency and are interested in being a reviewer for the 2015 SIF Pay For Success competition, please send an email with your last name and "PFS Reviewer" in the subject line to PFSReview@cns.gov.

The 2015 Social Innovation Fund (SIF) Pay for Success (PFS) grant competition will provide up to $14 million in grants to eligible nonprofit organizations and state and local governments seeking to engage in high-quality PFS projects in low-income communities across the country Consistent with the broader mission of the SIF, the PFS grant competition intends to advance and evaluate new models of funding high-quality, effective social interventions that produce measurable outcomes for individuals and communities.

Pay for Success is a new approach that brings together private, public and non-profit sectors to provide up-front funding to service providers. If the services provided achieve agreed-upon outcomes, the government repays the investors. If the outcomes are not achieved, the government does not pay allowing the public sector to receive the highest return on taxpayer investments. Seven Pay for Success programs have been piloted in the United States, in cities and counties including Chicago and Salt Lake County, and states including Massachusetts and New York, in the fields of juvenile justice, early childhood education, homelessness prevention and recidivism. Learn more about Pay for Success at:  http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/factsheet/paying-for-success.

As part of the 2015 PFS grant competition, the SIF will award each grantee between $200,000 and $1,800,000 each year over the three year project period to build PFS capacity or structure and enable PFS projects. Every SIF grant dollar must be matched by the grantee with nonfederal dollars and services.
