Wendy Spencer Will Tour AmeriCorps Projects, Thank Volunteers on One-Year Anniversary

JOPLIN, Mo. — Wendy Spencer, CEO of the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), will travel to Joplin, MO to mark the one-year anniversary of the May 22 tornado and recognize recovery efforts of a community helped back on its feet by volunteers and national service.

Spencer will meet with AmeriCorps members and organizations that have been critical to the rebuilding of the city and will visit with Joplin residents that have received services from these AmeriCorps programs. Spencer will also join in community events planned by the City of Joplin to express support for a resilient community that has touched the nation with its historic year of recovery.
