On Wednesday, May 6, Mayor Dayne Walling welcomes Corporation for National and Community Service CEO Wendy Spencer on a media conference call to announce a first of-its-kind AmeriCorps project for Flint elementary schools and students.
The Corporation for National & Community Service (CNCS) is the federal agency that engages citizens in service through AmeriCorps, Senior Corps, Social Innovation Fund, and other programs. Wendy Spencer was appointed to serve as CEO of CNCS by President Obama and confirmed unanimously by the U.S. Senate in 2012.
