Federal Service Agency to Hold Grand Opening of New Regional Office in Kansas City
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), the federal volunteer agency that administers AmeriCorps and Senior Corps programs, will hold a grand opening event for its new regional office in Kansas City, Mo., on Monday, Nov. 25.
This opening event will feature remarks from CNCS CEO Barbara Stewart and North Central Regional Administrator Michael Laverty, as well as a panel discussion with national service leaders. The event will be attended by AmeriCorps and Senior Corps grantees and national service supporters from across the region.
The North Central Region office is one of eight new regional offices that will connect communities with resources through the AmeriCorps and Senior Corps programs, in collaboration with governor-appointed state service commissions. The new office will serve eight states across the region: Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
