A few minutes ago the Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies of the House Appropriations Committee reported out legislation recommending $843,381,000 for the Corporation for National and Community Service and its programs for fiscal year 2008. The numbers break down as follows:

Domestic Volunteer Service Act

  • AmeriCorps*VISTA: $95,468,000
  • Senior Corps: $217,586,000
    • RSVP: $59,685,000
    • Foster Grandparents: $110,937,000
    • Senior Companions: $46,964,000

National and Community Service Act

  • AmeriCorps Grants: $255,625,000
  • NCCC: $11,620,000
  • National Service Trust: $122,521,000
  • Learn and Serve America: $37,125,000
  • Innovation and Demonstration: $13,000,000
  • Evaluation: $3,960,000
  • Partnership Grants: $0
  • State Commission Grants: $12,000,000

Other

  • Salaries and Expenses: $68,964,000
  • Office of Inspector General: $5,512,000

Total for CNCS:   $843,381,000
