As promised, here are the numbers reported out by the Senate Appropriations Committee in the Labor-HHS-Education Appropriations bill for fiscal year 2009. The bill provides $888,462,000 for the Corporation and its programs. The numbers break down as follows:

National and Community Service Act

  • AmeriCorps Grants: $271,007,000
  • NCCC: $27,500,000
  • National Service Trust: $132,110,000
  • Learn and Serve America: $37,459,000
  • Innovation and Demonstration: $18,893,000
  • Evaluation: $3,891,000
  • State Commission Grants: $11,790,000

Domestic Volunteer Service Act

  • AmeriCorps VISTA: $93,800,000
  • Senior Corps: $213,785,000
    • RSVP: $58,642,000
    • Foster Grandparents: $108,999,000
    • Senior Companions: $46,144,000

Other

  • Salaries and Expenses: $71,715,000
  • Office of Inspector General: $6,512,000

Total for CNCS:  $888,462,000

The bill now goes to the full Senate for consideration. The House Appropriations Committee will take up their version of the Labor-HHS-Education bill after the July 4th recess. If and when we see the numbers reported out by the House subcommittee, we will share them with you as well.
