FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Jun 18, 2009

Dear Colleagues:

I am following up on a message you received last week from Acting CEO Nicky Goren about the upcoming launch of My AmeriCorps. We will continue to provide information as it becomes available in the upcoming weeks, so stay tuned.

As described in the last message, My AmeriCorps will include new features for applicants, members, grantees, sponsors and staff, all building on the existing functions. Below is an overall summary of the member related functions for our various programs:

We understand that there will be a learning curve for users as we make the full transition to My AmeriCorps. To help, we will be sponsoring Webinars and Online Tutorials throughout the month of July. These trainings are designed to walk you through the various functions of My AmeriCorps and are tailored to the different programs.

But you can begin now by reviewing the My AmeriCorps Overview tutorial, a short tutorial that describes the system. You can find this tutorial and information about other tutorials and webinars in our Resource Center. In addition, we urge those of you who are attending the National Conference in San Francisco to attend the My AmeriCorps workshop scheduled for Wednesday, June 24 from 1:30pm-3:30pm.

Finally, we are interested in getting your input as we move ahead and have set up a feedback tool for your use. Please send your comments and questions to myamericorpsfeedback@cns.gov. We will not be able to respond to all individual comments, but we will consider the input for making improvements in the future and doing our best in providing you the support you need. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this transition

In service,

Kristin McSwain
Chief of Program Operations
