FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Jan 19, 2018

The Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) issued the following statement regarding recent leadership changes. Please attribute to CNCS spokesperson Samantha Jo Warfield.

Effective Thursday, January 18, Carl Higbie resigned as Chief of External Affairs at the Corporation for National and Community Service, the federal agency responsible for AmeriCorps and Senior Corps programs. At this time, CNCS continues to focus on supporting the thousands of Americans building a safer, stronger, more united America through national service in 50,000 locations across the country. The more than 325,000 citizens serving through AmeriCorps and Senior Corps programs are preparing today’s students for tomorrow’s jobs, reducing crime and reviving cities, connecting returning veterans to jobs, fighting the opioid epidemic, supporting seniors to live independently and with dignity, making college more accessible and affordable, and helping Americans rebuild their lives following a disaster, as they’re currently doing in hurricane and wildfire impacted areas.
