Washington, DC — Patrick Corvington, CEO of the Corporation for National and Community Service, will challenge a record number of service leaders to develop better, innovative strategies to achieve greater impact on our nation's toughest challenges.

More than 5,000 leaders from nearly every major sector – service, corporate and government – will gather the 2010 National Conference on Volunteering and Service held in New York City on June 28-30. The conference consist of over 170 session focused on methods to better target federal and private resources, engage more Americas in service, and build the capacity of nonprofit to expand what works and seeding new ideas.

As the head of the nation's service programs – AmeriCorps, Senior Corps and Learn and Serve America – and President Obama's United We Serve initiative, Corvington will discuss and lead the agency's first listening session on its five year strategic plan. The plan sets the direction for the agency.
