Secretary Duncan to Deliver Keynote Speech, Participate in
Panel Discussion for Role of Service in Remaking American Education Forum

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will deliver the keynote speech and participate in a panel discussion, “The Role of Service in Remaking American Education,” on Wednesday, June 30 in New York City. The forum will address how service partnerships between community-based organizations and schools can foster education reform and achieve greater results for children. Secretary Duncan will be joined by Corporation for National and Community Service CEO Patrick Corvington, Chancellor of New York City Department of Education Joel Klein, Director of America Reads Mississippi Ronjanett Taylor, Chairman and Senior Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Bob Moritz, and Vice President of Worldwide Education Anthony Salcito. The panel discussion will be moderated by Wall Street Journal education reporter Stephanie Banchero.

The forum is part of the National Conference on Volunteering and Service, the world's largest gathering of volunteer and service leaders from the nonprofit, government and corporate sectors.
