The Antioch educational experience is unique in the history of education in America.

There is no stronger voice in its service to the communities of America. The first institution of higher education to admit women, people of color, and Native Americans on an equal basis starting in 1852. The founding President, Horace Mann, started the first public schools in this country. His proclamation “Be ashamed to die until you have won some victory for humanity” is the cornerstone of the Antioch experience.
