Antioch University, a not-for-profit, mission-driven institution of higher
learning, offers an educational experience unique in the history of
progressive education in America. The first institution of higher education
to admit women, people of color, and Native Americans on an equal basis
starting in 1852, Antioch's founding President, Horace Mann, started the first
public schools in this country. His proclamation, “Be ashamed to die until
you have won some victory for humanity,” is the cornerstone of the Antioch
University experience. Antioch University now spans coast-to-coast with
online and low-residency locations, sharing progressive values aligned in a
mutual mission to educate the next generation of those determined to win
victories for humanity.
Eligibility: Scholarships are available annually to incoming students
