The Silver School of Social Work at New York University awards approximately $8 million in scholarships each year, resulting in 95 percent of eligible students receiving scholarship. This commitment of funds permits a diversity of students to pursue professional training here, and it creates a student body with a mix of backgrounds that enriches the learning environment and personal experiences of all. The Silver School is pleased to match the full Segal AmeriCorps Education Award to AmeriCorps members and alumni provided they enroll in one of our full-time MSW programs. The School may offer more scholarship depending upon the strength of the MSW application. Additional scholarships are available to full-time and part-time students during the field-learning phase of their program.  The Silver School also offers admission deferral to those applying for admission prior to beginning AmeriCorps service. All AmeriCorps members and alumni are eligible for an application fee waiver.

The Silver School’s mission is to educate professionals in a global perspective for social work practice with individuals, families, groups, and communities and to provide leadership in the development of knowledge relevant to social work practice in a complex urban environment.

The School is committed to the core social work values of: belief in the dignity and worth of all individuals; the centrality and power of caring human relationships; a commitment to social and economic justice that includes freedom from all forms of oppression and access to social goods; and a dedication to practicing with integrity and the highest level of competence.
