Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU) has a strong appreciation for and commitment to community service as part of our social justice mission. In support of AmeriCorps, SCSU will match the amount of a student's Segal AmeriCorps Education Award up to $1,000 annually to qualified students of the program, to earn the match students must have been a part of the Jumpstart program thru SCSU. If the student has been awarded any other SCSU scholarship/grant award, the matching award may reduce the value of the other scholarship/grant award. Each award may be renewed for up to four years for recipients who remain in good academic standing, as defined in the SCSU catalog and the student's continued eligibility for the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award. To apply for this scholarship, students must submit a statement of participation that is endorsed by their AmeriCorps program director in the Jumpstart program to the Financial Aid office by May 1st of each year.
