University of Connecticut - Department of Public Policy

The University of Connecticut's Department of Public Policy offers all AmeriCorps alumni an application waiver to the Master of Public Administration (MPA) Program.

Alumni of AmeriCorps are eligible for a one time award of $1,000 to the MPA program upon completed applications received by February 15th. This award may be combined with other scholarships and awards granted by the department. This award will be granted for the first year of full-time study.

The MPA Program offers a competitive Internship and Professional Practice (IPP) program for 2nd year full-time MPA students. Students gain a meaningful, significant managerial and/or analytic work experience in an organizational setting. In compensation for the IPP, students receive a full tuition scholarship, stipend, and medical benefits. Placements rates for students seeking an IPP, while competitive and not guaranteed, have exceeded 90% each year since 2004.
