The University of Maryland College of Education welcomes AmeriCorps alumni who wish to further their service by becoming a teacher!

Each year, the College of Education will match the Segal Education Award with tuition fellowships of up to $4000 each for up to five people who have successfully completed full-time service with AmeriCorps. People who have successfully completed part-time AmeriCorps programs may be eligible for a prorated award.

This fellowship program is designated for AmeriCorps alumni who are admitted to our Master’s Certification program, known as MCERT, a one-year graduate-level teacher preparation program that leads to a elementary, middle school, secondary, or PreK-12 Teacher Certification and a Curriculum and Instruction, Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree.
