Reilly is an AmeriCorps member who serves as a college adviser with the Virginia College Advising Corps at the University of Virginia. During COVID-19, Reilly helped students plan for life after high school.

“This pandemic brought many challenges, but it was a rewarding time, nonetheless. My service has been critical for the students, especially since school was completely virtual. Students were dealing with extremely difficult circumstances for their academics, mental health, and future plans.

I am so grateful that I have this opportunity to be a mentor for students right now, because everyone needs someone to lean on and guide them through challenging times.

It is hard knowing that in just a few months, my service will end. But I know I will carry with me the opportunities and interactions AmeriCorps has given me for the rest of my life.”
