"I initially moved to the West Coast to find job opportunities, but had little luck until I came across Service.org. I bypassed it the first time but after seeing it again, I felt like it was a calling and applied.

I joined Habitat for Humanity Seattle as an AmeriCorps member. As a resource development coordinator, I helped with grant tracking and annual reports for our corporate sponsors. My most memorable service experience was attending the Habitat for Humanity Build-a-thon and befriending other AmeriCorps members. And thanks to AmeriCorps benefits, I was also able to enroll in the certified nonprofit professional program for a lower tuition cost as an alumna.

Even though my service has ended, I still encourage others to join AmeriCorps because there is never a better time than now. National service changed my life for the better. I wear my AmeriCorps badge proudly every day because together, we are the future leaders of the nonprofit sector!"
