Volunteer recruitment and management are key aspects of building nonprofit organizational capacity and providing civic engagement pathways for communities. At a time of social need, when Americans of all ages are looking for ways to give back, AmeriCorps’ Office of Research and Evaluation put forth in the agency Learning Agenda the need to be ready to engage all those who answer the call to serve by identifying and understanding capacity building volunteer management and engagement best practices.
The Volunteer Generation Fund Life Cycle Evaluation bundled implementation study engaged AmeriCorps State Commissions to build evidence on the most effective and sustainable volunteer recruitment and management practices.
The final implementation report, updated literature review, and additional material will be available in October 2023 on the AmeriCorps Evidence Exchange.
