From March 9 – 15, Americans celebrated the hundreds of thousands of AmeriCorps members, AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers, and alumni who chose to devote their time and energy to strengthening communities during AmeriCorps Week.
This year, the nation recognized the commitment of these Americans who have contributed millions of hours of service across all 50 states and U.S. territories to demonstrate how AmeriCorps Works and showcase that America’s greatness comes from the extraordinary acts of ordinary citizens.
Americans Don the AmeriCorps ‘A’ on Day of the A
On Monday, March 10, AmeriCorps Week kicked off with #DayOfTheA. AmeriCorps members, AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers, and alumni proudly wore their AmeriCorps gear and shared how national service transforms lives in communities and those who serve.
From members serving in schools and universities who tutor students and support teachers to those at food banks who address hunger and build capacity for local organizations, AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers respond to our communities’ most urgent needs and make a difference every day.

Leaders Unite for Mayors Day
On Wednesday, March 12, leaders across the nation participated in celebrations as part of Mayors Day. On this day, mayors from across the country join to thank those who serve and recognize their impact. Our nation’s leaders proclaimed AmeriCorps Week in their state, county, city, and jurisdiction to recognize and honor the efforts of local AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers. From coast to coast, leaders met with AmeriCorps members in person to thank them for their extraordinary service and to see the positive impact they leave on their communities firsthand.
Tangible Proof AmeriCorps Works for America
To culminate celebrations, on Thursday, March 13, AmeriCorps released the 2025 National Service Reports. The reports highlight how AmeriCorps works for America, with data demonstrating how each U.S. state has leveraged federal investments and AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers to make positive impacts in its communities.
The reports demonstrate the scope of AmeriCorps’ presence throughout the nation, with programs in nearly 35,000 locations spanning urban, rural, and tribal communities. AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers serve at nonprofit, faith-based, municipal, and community-based organizations to address the nation’s most pressing issues in six core focus areas that include education, economic opportunity, disaster services, environmental stewardship, healthy futures, and veterans and military families.
