More people are volunteering again after a big pandemic drop

Nearly 76 million Americans volunteered at some point in 2023, up from just over 60 million in 2021, according to a recent survey from AmeriCorps and the Census Bureau. The increase came after a 7 percentage-point drop during the height of the pandemic — the largest decrease in volunteering in more than two decades. Read more in Marketplace.
