Alvin Warren was nominated to the AmeriCorps Board of Directors by President Biden in January 2022 and confirmed by the U.S. Senate in March 2022.

Shirley Sagawa was nominated to the AmeriCorps Board of Directors by President Biden in January 2022 and confirmed by the U.S. Senate in August 2022.

Sagawa is former a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress and the author of three books, including “The American Way to Change” and “The Charismatic Organization.”

Flor Romero was nominated to the AmeriCorps Board of Directors by President Biden in September 2021 and confirmed by the U.S. Senate in May 2022.

Flor Romero is a social worker who has dedicated her career to historically marginalized communities in the Los Angeles area and is the daughter of first-generation Salvadoran immigrants.

Lisette Nieves was nominated to the AmeriCorps Board of Directors by President Biden in September 2021 and confirmed by the U.S. Senate in July 2022. 

Fagan Harris was nominated to join AmeriCorps Board of Directors by President Biden in July 2021 and confirmed by the U.S. Senate in December 2021.

Harris is a social entrepreneur, writer and researcher who has dedicated his career to advancing impact career opportunities for underestimated communities. 

Leslie Bluhm was nominated to the AmeriCorps Board of Directors by President Biden in September 2021 and confirmed by the U.S. Senate in July 2022.

Bluhm is a social entrepreneur who empowers people to tackle challenges through collaborative action. She serves on the board of directors of Chicago Cares, The Chicago Community Trust, Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, OneGoal, Whitney Museum of American Art, Shining Hope for Communities, and Rush Street Interactive, Inc. 

Catherine McLaughlin was nominated to the AmeriCorps Board of Directors by President Biden in April 2021 and confirmed by the U.S. Senate in December 2021.

McLaughlin serves as the founding executive director of the Biden Institute at the University of Delaware. The institute, established in 2017, brings students together with accomplished, respected practitioners from a broad diversity of backgrounds and a wide range of policy fields to equip aspiring public servants to elevate civil discourse and take on pressing policy challenges facing our nation.

Carly Bruder was named the chief program officer in April 2024. Bruder began her national service journey in 2004 as an AmeriCorps NCCC member, before serving as a VISTA member and VISTA leader. After becoming an AmeriCorps VISTA sponsor, Bruder joined the AmeriCorps staff, working in the Florida and Massachusetts State Offices, working as a VISTA training coordinator, running the VISTA Member Support Unit, and serving as the senior advisor for technology transformation.
