Carly Bruder was named the chief program officer in April 2024. Bruder began her national service journey in 2004 as an AmeriCorps NCCC member, before serving as a VISTA member and VISTA leader. After becoming an AmeriCorps VISTA sponsor, Bruder joined the AmeriCorps staff, working in the Florida and Massachusetts State Offices, working as a VISTA training coordinator, running the VISTA Member Support Unit, and serving as the senior advisor for technology transformation.

Erin McGrath was named the first director of the Office of Regional Operations in April 2019. She leads the planning, development, delivery, and evaluation of AmeriCorps programs through a regional model, while working to maintain strong bonds with local community partnerships.

AJ Pearlman joins AmeriCorps from the Department of Health and Human Services, where she served as the chief of staff for COVID-19 response, leading efforts across the department to address and respond to the pandemic. Previously, she served as the health lead for the personnel appointments team in support of the Biden-Harris Presidential transition.

Nijhawan has committed her career to developing leaders and growing national service. Most recently, she developed and served as the executive director of Stockton Service Corps, a six-year, $12 million initiative to address local needs through AmeriCorps. Her professional background also includes extensive experience in education, beginning as an AmeriCorps member with City Year Chicago.

Sergi leads AmeriCorps Seniors, the federal grantmaking office of AmeriCorps that is focused on promoting and engaging people aged 55 and over in outcomes-oriented service. She has more than 20 years of experience in service, community engagement, and education, working in the public and nonprofit sector to bring private and public organizations together to ensure people of all ages, as well as those living in underserved communities, thrive.

Ken Goodson is director of AmeriCorps NCCC, an AmeriCorps program that recruits young adults to serve in 9-10 month and summer service terms focused on meeting national and community priorities across the nation. He oversees the operations and management of AmeriCorps NCCC, the NCCC FEMA Corps program, the newly launched AmeriCorps NCCC Forest Corps program, and AmeriCorps’ Disaster Services Unit.

Linda Southcott leads a unit focused on independently monitoring the AmeriCorps grant portfolio to ensure program activities are in compliance with federal regulations and AmeriCorps policies. 

Maelat Mathias is the chief human capital officer at AmeriCorps. She leads the strategic management of the agency’s human resources programs and operations, driving tangible results in talent acquisition and retention, compensation and benefits, training and development, HR strategy, performance management, and work/life programs.

Gina Cross is the chief operating officer of AmeriCorps. In this capacity, Cross oversees and strengthens the agency’s operational effectiveness. Prior to this role, Cross was the acting director of AmeriCorps NCCC, the National Civilian Community Corps and held other key roles within NCCC and the agency.
