Ken Goodson is director of AmeriCorps NCCC, an AmeriCorps program that recruits young adults to serve in 9-10 month and summer service terms focused on meeting national and community priorities across the nation. He oversees the operations and management of AmeriCorps NCCC, the NCCC FEMA Corps program, the newly launched AmeriCorps NCCC Forest Corps program, NCCC’s Summer of Service, and AmeriCorps’ Disaster Services Unit.

Malena Brookshire

Malena Brookshire serves as the Chief Financial Officer for AmeriCorps. She brings more than 20 years of experience in strategy and risk management, organizational change, and financial modernization. Before joining AmeriCorps, Brookshire held senior leadership roles at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Office of Management and Budget, where she supported complex budget environments for the Department of Agriculture and Department of Defense.

Mary Hyde

Dr. Mary Hyde is the AmeriCorps Director of Research and Evaluation, the organization’s hub for the creation of agency-wide strategies and insights based on the analysis of raw data. The department provides essential evidence-based metrics that directly influence agency decision-making.

Jill Graham

Jill Graham currently serves as the Acting Chief of Staff of AmeriCorps and Deputy Chief of Staff for Internal Operations. She has more than 20 years of experience in national service. She is an AmeriCorps alum, has led a state AmeriCorps program, and has worked at National Direct.

Graham began her AmeriCorps career in 2013 as a program officer of the AmeriCorps State and National program and then became the GARP lead and the program’s Acting Deputy Director.

REACH Corps FY19 End of Grant Evaluation

The Ready to Extend a Caring Hand (REACH) program is based on the Check and Connect model. This model is a mentoring program that aims to reduce the number of student absences from school and increase academic engagement. Students who are at risk of disengagement or dropping out of school are assigned a mentor. Mentors monitor school attendance and academic performance and connect assigned students with resources through one-on-one meetings or in small groups.    

Impact Evaluation Report 2021: Washington Conservation Corps Restoration Methods

The Washington Conservation Corps in partnership with city of Bellingham, established, maintained, and monitored a native plant restoration site near Anderson Creek in the Lake Whatcom watershed for a four-year period from 2018 through summer 2021. At the test site, Washington Conservation Corps applied three site treatments that are restoration methods used by the organization.

Birth and Beyond AmeriCorps: AmeriCorps Quasi- Experimental Program Evaluation 2018-2021

The Birth & Beyond (B&B) Family Resource Center Initiative, an AmeriCorps State and National program, supports families at risk of child maltreatment with weekly home visits by AmeriCorps members. AmeriCorps home visitors employ the evidence-based parent education curriculum, the Nurturing Parenting Program (NPP), and assess parents using the Adult-Adolescent Parenting Inventory (AAPI) to determine the risk of child maltreatment.
