Winners represent Georgia, Iowa, New Mexico, New York, and Washington

Washington, D.C. – The annual excellence in AmeriCorps award winners were announced today by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), the federal agency that administers AmeriCorps,  during the 2017 AmeriCorps Symposium in Washington, D.C.  This year, five winners were honored for their community impact and commitment to service.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – AmeriCorps and Senior Corps are calling on Americans to unite with a common purpose to remember the events of September 11 and commemorate the tragedy through volunteer service. Nearly 550 AmeriCorps and Senior Corps members from Texas and across the nation respond to recovery efforts

AmeriCorps members are working with the American Red Cross, supporting shelter and mass care operations, as well as providing assistance to FEMA’s logistics and disaster survivor assistance teams.

AmeriCorps members are working with the American Red Cross, supporting shelter and mass care operations, as well as providing assistance to FEMA’s logistics and disaster survivor assistance teams.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – As Hurricane Harvey heads toward Texas, the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), the federal agency that oversees AmeriCorps, Senior Corps, and the nation’s volunteering initiatives, has placed more than 700 members of the AmeriCorps Disaster Response Team (A-DRTs), including FEMA Corps, on standby to deploy at the request of the state and local managers. These teams provide expert manpower for everything from coordinating volunteers to donations management, sandbagging to shelter operations, and debris removal to home repairs.

Funding will support more than 7,700 Senior Corps RSVP volunteers across the nation

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) today announced more than $5.3 million in Senior Corps RSVP funding to support senior volunteer service in 50 new communities across the country. These grants awarded to nonprofits and community agencies will expand RSVP’s presence in areas previously unserved by Senior Corps RSVP programs.

Funding supports nearly 60,000 AmeriCorps members; Provides $174 million in scholarships to those who serve; Programs begin recruiting this summer

WASHINGTON, D.C. –The Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) today announced $532 million in AmeriCorps funding to help national and local organizations, faith-based groups, and educational institutions respond to the most critical issues facing communities in the U.S. This funding will engage Americans in service across all 50 states, including the District of Columbia.
