WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), the federal agency for volunteering and service, today awarded nearly $2 million in AmeriCorps funding to 12 American Indian and Alaska Native Tribes and entities.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), the federal agency that administers AmeriCorps and leads the nation’s volunteering initiatives, today announced more than $6 million in Volunteer Generation Fund (VGF) grants, a record high for the program since its creation in 2009. The VGF is designed to expand opportunities for more Americans to serve while enhancing the capacity of nonprofits to have sustained impact in local communities.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Thousands of Americans will serve as AmeriCorps VISTA Summer Associates throughout the nation in 2020, announced the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), the federal agency for volunteering and service. A valuable asset for nonprofits, these VISTA Summer Associates will serve in communities across 40 states at a time when resources are stretched thin and services are needed more than ever.
The Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) today announced $3.2 million in funding that will bring Americans together to focus on service to others through national days of service. WASHINGTON, D.C. –The Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) today announced $576 million in AmeriCorps funding – including grants and education awards – to help national and local organizations, faith-based groups, and educational institutions respond to the most-critical issues facing communities in the U.S. In total, this funding will provide more than 60,000 Americans the opportunity to serve their communities through AmeriCorps.
As part of the coordinated federal response, the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), the federal agency for volunteering and service, is collaborating with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to encourage state and local public health departments to consider the use of national service programs, such as AmeriCorps, as part of ongoing COVID-19 response efforts.
