WASHINGTON, D.C. –The Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) today announced $576 million in AmeriCorps funding – including grants and education awards – to help national and local organizations, faith-based groups, and educational institutions respond to the most-critical issues facing communities in the U.S. In total, this funding will provide more than 60,000 Americans the opportunity to serve their communities through AmeriCorps.

As part of the coordinated federal response, the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), the federal agency for volunteering and service, is collaborating with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to encourage state and local public health departments to consider the use of national service programs, such as AmeriCorps, as part of ongoing COVID-19 response efforts.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), the federal agency responsible for the nation’s volunteer and service efforts, has increased the hourly stipend for Senior Corps volunteers serving through Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion programs. WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) today announced more than $21 million in Senior Corps funding to support nearly 200 RSVP, Foster Grandparent, and Senior Companion projects across the nation. The grants will both strengthen existing programs and establish new areas of service.

The annual event is an opportunity for Americans to recommit themselves as citizens by responding to words once spoken by Dr. King, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Jan. 20 will mark the 25th celebration of the MLK Day of Service, an annual event which encourages all Americans to honor Dr. King through service to one another.

The annual event is an opportunity for Americans to answer the call famously posed by Dr. King, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’”
